Strange thing, the term "rasoir à rabot" is now used to design a SE in France (a DE would be a "pioche", that is a "pick" by opposition to a "plane" which would be justified if we are talking wood :p...

We do have, in French, another word for the faux...
We do have, in French, another word for the faux frameback, which is "baguette". But it's not a common word, we more usually use "faux frameback"
