The Castle Forbes product is water based. It does make your beard stand up well. No oily hands. If you like the T&H oil, you will probably like the CF product as well.

I have found the AOS oil to be very thick and almost gummy. This does not present a big problem when using a straight, but it will gum up a DE. The oil offered by T&H seems to be a better product...
