I would point out that, at the time of use, tape adds a degree of bevel angle. No big deal and certainly does not harm the razor. I just happen to like the shave from very acute bevel angles.

The 'how long to change the angle question' is mute ~ 1/16" would have to be worn off of the width to change the bevel angle 1 degree. I'm more worried about the 1 degree change toward the obtuse...
