I see what your talking about on the edge, as if it is rounded over a bit. Hard to say what it really is. Try positioning you light 'edge on' the way I do. If you don't remember this, I'll show you...

On my screen your bevel shows at 3/4" so divided...
On my screen your bevel shows at 3/4" so divided by .5mm [.02"] that's about 40x.
I don't think that magnification power really works that way, but that's how I think.

It's hard for me to say without knowing the magnification, but I think I would go to 3k to get a more uniform scratch pattern. It should not take much time now.
How wide is the bevel unmagnified?... -

I think that you are looking at the blade up side...
I think that you are looking at the blade up side down Tc. Those pits are at the back of the bevel and should cause no problem.

I guess that I'll be the contrarian here. Not that I doubt anyone else's experience, but the only time I've experienced what may have been over honing and poor edge retention was with a slow cutting...
