Scales look to be bone. Very thin bone. Wish it wasn't cracked and chipped.

I looked over it some more.... The spine is the same all the way down. I just find it weird.... it has an "edge", but doesn't appeared to have been sharpened. I hand polished with a cloth, no buffer...
