I hear lead is better when pasted to a leather strop, but I don't have one I want to do that with, so I used an extra...

I've melted and poured tons of lead, over the years.

You'd have to eat a lot of it, or get shot, to be of much concern.
I use a piece of wheel weight, on a linen strop.

I only strop on it...

But the smoothness that a natural brings out, is well worth the extra time and effort.

I find the synthetics to be a bit too crisp, for my liking.

Maybe try a full synthetic progression, then...

Last night, I set the bevel with the green brick, then took this 7/8 Wade & Butcher up to around 8k, using a Washita, and dark blue, Thurigan.

This evening, I finished it out on the B/G barbers...

What magnification is that at, Joseph.? The 10k looks worse than the 5k

That, would suck.! But looks to have some decent realestate, yet. About the same as a Escher, barbers delight.

All the Dovo's I've come across, need the stabilizers thinned/ ground more. The heels are more like a wedge, than a hollow grind.

The feeling on the skin, with Nats, is more than worth the time spent honing, IMHO. My face still has that numb feeling. !!

Take it to 12k synthetic, then finish on your Nat of choice, for...
