yup, just very hot water, no additions at all. I was very puzzled, and irritated that my time honing had been wasted. I won't use it to clean razors any more, and I use cold water to rinse my blade....

Ok, Don't know why this happened but I immersed two razors in very hot water for a few minutes and it desatroyed the edges, which came out with rust spots and corroded edges.
Any ideas?
