What do you think it might be? The seller called it a blue-green thuringan but didn't make promises.

I just did 50 lapps-ish on the thuri with water. Now it has scratch marks where the 8k norton was more polished. Does that make sense? Wikid sharp now, for sure. I'll strop and shave with it...

Dish soap? Straight or thinned?

I have a well worn ez-lap diamond hone that might work, for playing. Not much chance of diamonds coming free on it nor is there cut out "diamonds".
