This is helpful. I have been wondering if it is always the case that a 6/8 will be heavier than a 5/8...or does that depend in part on the brand and grind (full hollow, half hollow, wedge, etc.).

I am like you. I like a clean blade...no etching, gold etc. etc. I've been looking at a Ralf Aust...but I read in another post that his razor is a little on the heavier side...too bad they don't...
