Well, as it turns out "preparation" in Swedish is "förberedelse" and as it's already established this type of razor was intended for surgical prep, maybe it's that simple. "F" is for "förberedelse"....

Hmmm... this is probably grasping, but having seen another similar example which was suspected to be military issue, and given that "field" is "fält" in Swedish, I'm wondering if the F stands for...

Just picked up this razor for 5€ on a whim...
