Nah, it's not that difficult. Just watch which part of the blade is pushing/undercutting water as you rock through the stroke. Like all honing, it takes a little while to build up the muscle memory...

It's a full hollow grind, but the thin part is thicker than most vintage Solingen full hollows, so (while I don't have one to compare) I'm guessing it's thicker than the older singing TIs.
