I will find out in time what it does for me. At the moment I have not shaven yet on a finish produced by this actual stone, but I did finish some french pocket knives with it....

I too have recently bought a Thuringian, of which I do not know it is an Escher, but the label attached to this one is really suggestive. It clearly shows the little hammers from the Escher label(s)...
