I ended up getting a Carborundum 103 barbers hone for around $30. Haven't received it yet but once I do I will let you know how it works for a beginner like me. Part of me wishes I would have waited...

Do you think they are any better than a carborundum? Is cleaning them difficult ? Sorry for all the questions and thank you for all the help.
