Yeah I probably shouldn't be to worried. I practice on newspaper for about 20 passes first just to refresh muscle memory, then move onto the strop. Guess I should just suck it up and get a good one...

I thought the exact same thing. I think I may have to spend a while on google to double check. It is difficult to find any info on this strop.
