I find it interesting that natural Japanese stones have a rating system for hardness and keenness of edge produced, but coticules and BBWs are characterized by the layer from which they were sourced....

This is my natural combo of unknown vintage and layer. The coticule sides takes my edges to around the same place as my Norton 8K. Haven’t really tried the BBW side much.
