No it's not a shaving soap but it is made of lye and lard. Since many of the better shaving soaps are are high in tallow or lanolin I figured I would give it a whirl. It has worked very well for me....

I've brought up lye soap before. Grandma' Pure Soap is the one I get from the Ace Hardware.
