I have not tried the 16 grit sic I just got on...
I have not tried the 16 grit sic I just got on the crystolon stones but man is it aggressive on softer, slurriable stones ; too aggressive really unless you have a whole lot to take off.

Dang boy! I have a couple of big really nice crystolon stones of my Dad's that I need to flatten. That would be funky cold medina to have one if that really works.

Yes, Carborundum made a very good SIC razor hone...
Yes, Carborundum made a very good SIC razor hone as did Pike although their brand name for SIC is Crystolon. They are very hard too. They're made out of silicon carbide which is what we normally use...
