The original owner of the blade did use 1 strip of insulation tape on the spine and I did not so I need to tape the spine up next time.
I may need one of those guys...

Ok so pull the strop tight and don’t apply too much pressure I will try that too thanks.

That’s a good idea I will try that thanks boushie.
I think the blade is set,it just needs a finishing touch as I can shave with it but it pulls slightly and doesn’t seem quite right.

I do have a Norton 4000/8000 combo too.
Should I tape the spine when honing? The blade is old 1900’s

No I haven’t.
What would I look for an uneven edge? Would it stand out and be obvious?

So it was a second hand razor and honed by the previous owner. It shaved ok for the first time then I think I messed up stropping it as I only had a 2” wide one.
Now I have a 3” strop.
