I measure only the extreme ones now they are rather thin when compared to many that we see in pics of new builds :(

First thing I did before every making a set...

You'll get it,, You can always adjust it as you go, ie: as you can see from the pics the mock up bolts make everything easier :)

I have never seen a Vintage razor or a Custom made by an experienced Razorsmith without some tang angle,, I have seen some Customs built by Knife guys like that.

Okay one more "Rule of Thumb"

Put the scales on the razor at the tang, they will follow the Angle of the Tang", they have to, look at that angle, measure it if you must, but honestly it only has...

Of course the more you do with the different sizes means you get more confident with the adjustments...

Keep in mind that you can ALWAYS take some away as you mock it up, and try...

Let me give you some rules of thumb :)

There are no razor tangs at the pivot larger then 1/4"
Starting with 1/8" thick material means you always have enough :)
