We are saying the exact same thing, the difference is in the amount of steel removed after 4k... Some of you think that there is still quite a bit being removed... Myself and others think that there...

This has pretty much been proved to be around the .48 -.38 micron level by way of the papers the Mr.Parker has linked and most of us have read...

Is there anyone who thinks there is more then say 2/100 of a micron between sharp and too sharp????

You are saying the same thing we all are....
Basically that an edge only gets so sharp period....

The only difference is you think it gets there at higher grits then what we do...

Here is what is being said Sham in numbers

Lets say the edge starts .at .75 microns you sharpen in the 1-4k range to .48 the last bit of finishing takes the edge to the max sharpness of .47...

I think the difference is much, much, less like maybe 1/100th of a micron not 5/100ths and I don't think you can feel or notice that difference...

I absolutely positively disagree here, "for my face" the sharper/smoother the edge the lighter the touch the lighter the touch the smoother the stubble...

I'm quite sure that they are nearly exactly the same width across the bevels. Verhoeven demonstrated that the limits for the edge width arrive at a surprisingly low abrasive grit, something around 4k...

Anything in the finishing stages is about finishing not about sharpness...
You are talking again differences in the 1/1ooths of a micron on any given razor.... If...

Larry do you maybe think it is more you adjust your technique to the edge, rather than they get duller?????

Honestly I have now shaved with a few Feathers TY Don and Logistics...

I am sorry but I don't think the edges are any sharper than some of the American NY steel straights out there...
