Well, it's almost 10 years since I got on osx and I still do that at least several times a week :)
That's the one thing apple has always tended to do better than anybody else - user interface.

Don't worry, earcutter is just too excited with his macbook air and taking screenshots with it (⌘+$) ;)
Just wait until he discovers the annotate button in Preview.app and you'll start seeing stuff...
