it's hard to describe. "sticky" is how most people describe it. if the razor isn't ready to go to the next hone, then you will spend a lot of time using the next hone with almost no effect.

1. it is possible that with a decade of heavy use, I'll wear the CrO off. but i'm not counting on it. it's pretty permanent.

CrO + honing oil + rubber glove + rub the strop = completely green strop


really not that much to make a video out of. i just made a bit more mixture than i intended to for such a small strop.

not OT at all. I am wiping the edge, but I am gently pinching it between thumb and forefinger (and towel) which places no more stress on the edge than stropping.

I dunno, it gets the edge clean...

no. only as a final stage of honing. usually i strop on linen, then leather. CrO only if i've been using the swaty
