I don't know if you should call it patience. But I'm terribly stubborn to the verge of being obstinate. Every once in a while it pays off.:D

Sandy, I pray you don't burst into tears, when you see the amount of steel I needed to remove. As you can see, the one-layer-of-tape bevel extends all the way to the toes of the eagle. Part of the...

Thanks for pointing that out, Sandy. I think no one ever implied differently, but it sure sucks majorly when something like this shows up at the blade one has worked on, even if the problem was not...

I've been around that razor long enough now, that I don't need to try. The affected part of the edge crumbles even from doing a HHT.
But I 'm not sure about the premise that only steel with messed... -

Thanks, Chris.
I don't know the cause either. Too bad no one came up with a reliable test to discern between temper and corrosion issues. But I think the course of action to deal with both problems... -

Since my last post in this thread I have spend over 10 hours honing in 4 different sessions. I have removed small portions of the bevel with the breadknifing method and reestablished the bevel 3...

I've made another picture.
You guys are gonna have to take my word for it, but the edge was flawless before the test shave. Every damage you see was caused by a few swipes WTG.

This is an extremely interesting post. It explains why I can't see actual corrosion pitting at the edge, but still experience disintegrating steel. It also sounds very much in... -
