Are they any good? It seems pretty smooth. Or shall I just put it away, and keep in a drawer as a "relic"?

I was wondering if any of you could tell me what kind of stone this was. I have been trying to flatten it, but seems to be a hard job. It just keeps eating away the sandpapers... It does not seem to...
