The oven cleaner is a good way to get rid of a lot of crud really fast but now you have seen its limits.

That is one dirty hone!:) use Oven Cleaner, several applications and scrub with a brush. Then take some 220 grit sandpaper and try lapping it. Let us know how it laps....
