A friend had that problem with some diamond plate that is a thin film glued on a plastic base.
I should have added, if you get a DMT or Atoma to bend, you are using way to much pressure.

Some diamond plates will also bend slightly, if you want to be sure to get your hone flat put the diamond plate om a flat surface and your stone on top.
