Semi gloss, Mirror is not so good for an goldsmiths anvil, with 60w halogen lights and 12x head loupe you almost go blind!
The rough bottom part is actually not...

I'm incidentally making a small anvil out of old rail right now, it's a dirty job!

I've got an anvil that's probably from the middle ages, to bad in a bad shape, otherwise I would use it.
