The reason I like the wider strop is you can go...
The reason I like the wider strop is you can go up and back with out the pyramid motion you need with the narrower strops. I am a morning shaver and its real easy for me to cut the strop if I have to...

I have to disagree with Randy on the strop. I love my 3 1/4" much better than my old 2 1/2. It is much easier to use.:D

On a new TI just strop before your shave. You should not need a hone for a while. Then I would recommend a 4000/8000 Norton.
