    I never use the 200. It makes the edge too rough...

    I never use the 200. It makes the edge too rough and material removal is too quick. The jump from the 1K to the diamond (1200) is like going to a 2.4K. That seems to fill the gap perfectly.

    Or putting it another way, the 1000 is the 2K...

    Or putting it another way, the 1000 is the 2K he's looking for. I find that the diamond ultrafine is perfect for geting that edge started quickly.
