Robin has excellent info on his site, but many of us do it differently. I would use a 1k synthetic stone for the bevel, thick slurry eventually watered down on the blue and then again on the yellow.

Its usually because we have had a woman for a while that we eventually turn to the stones.

The yellow side is yellow, the blue side is blue and they are both Belgian. LOL
