I sold my 4/8 combo years ago and bought the single grit 4k and 8k. Gave away the 1k to a local guy back then and bought the chosera 1k. Never regretted those moves. The 4k stays in water in a sealed...

I just took an early 1900s Gillette DE blade and ran it across my 5, and my 10k and didn't feel anything from the crazing. OTOH, if I had it to do over I'd take the superstones over the choseras just...

My 5 and 10k choseras are crazed. So far they work fine. IIRC holli4pirating had his 1k chosera crack/craze must be 5 years ago. AFAIK it is still fine for honing razors.
