I bought the annealed ATS-34 steel from K&G in Arizona. The bar of steel measured 1/4 X 1 1/2 X 36 inches. I cut off six inches of it and ground away everything that didn't look it belonged there...

Two more photos. The first shows the relative size next to a standard 5/8 blade. The second is honing the booger. I used electrical tape so there wouldn't be hone marks on the spine.

Thanks... in order to use the mosaic's for a third pin, they have to be stepped to be functional. I have been using them for razors a while and for knives since 1992.

Speaking of TEMPERATURES...

Josh's razor got the ole sub zero quench. That means everything is lined up with the world. I may be able to get to finishing it in one more day... or there abouts. :)

Well, it looks like it's about time to rock and roll. The 4.2 ounce blade just got back from Paul Bos. He took it to 59RC, which sounds good to me.

Right now it's a variety of browns and pinks...

Well... The scales are pretty much done. CA finish just a waitin' for Josh to drop it on the floor. (I hope not) They weigh 1.4 ounces, all by themselves. Lined with lead, just to balance the blade....
