Not to start a whole thing here again but just be aware there are other opinions out there on which side of the razor to use when shaving.

yep, I've said that many times. Its like learning to shave all over again. A very humbling experience if your a veteran shaver but in the end once mastered you will get the best shaves in the world.

When I'm on the right side of my face the handle does point towards my ear however I don't find that to be a problem. Maybe I have small ears, I don't know.

Well, I'm left handed and am able to use one. Of course I shave using both hands.

If your using one hand only its impossible for me also. If you use two its not. You just have to think about how you are going to attack that part of your face and figure out how to hold the thing....

I'm not sure I understand your first point. Western razors are symmetrical so you can and should use both sides whether you are shaving yourself or someone else. Japanese straight are asymmetrical....

If you look at the profile picture in this thread you will notice the edge is canted towards the concave side of the razor. Now, why would you want to shave with a blade...
