Well, read the Wiki entry on stropping again. If you use a light touch, and not too much speed, you should be fine.

If your stropping technique is good (ie you won't round the edge immediately), just go ahead and give the Bergische Löwe a try. You will like it a lot. :)

I have used both, and I like the Bergischer Löwe better, both based on shaving characteristics (singing blade, lots of flex), as well as ergonomics (I find the micarta scales too wide).
