    Basically no. The Norton is bigger than the 6"...

    Basically no. The Norton is bigger than the 6" DMT so would be maddening to measure flatness & then have to lap specific areas of stone. So easy to get it wrong unless you've done that sort of thing...

    Yes they come in varying lengths hence different...

    Yes they come in varying lengths hence different code numbers but the C = Coarse = 325 grit

    I'd drop the Norton flattener & the coticule &...

    I'd drop the Norton flattener & the coticule & use that money for a diamond plate for the 4/8k.
    You can cheaply improve the 8k edge with pastes later if needed.
