Not saying that but the 'best' barber hones can go for more than a 12k. Look up prices on eBay for Norton barber hones.

On the other foot a 'good' barber hone will be 1/2 the price of a 12k.

Must agree with the gents above. I wouldn't call a 6k edge 'desirable' for shaving but I believe there's another camp that use progressions of pastes whereas we choose to use hones. I don't have...
