The owner is well experienced & his ara-togi (coarse grinding) left a perfect geometry that honed easily.
Yes it was a pretty serious rework due to the damage but I only have the one...

They certainly would have been black when new but yellowed as bakelite does. I was pleased with the almost tortoisehell effect after cleanup.
