Maybe someone who has one could chime in but I imagine a 4mm strop would not work so well for a SE. I know Howrween comes as thin as .100" & I think my strop was marked "horse" but no longer have it...

The old Valet auto strops were really thin. Thinner than roo. Don't know if they were shell or plain horse hide but they were cross hatched on the reverse side a la "Russian" leather.
