I noticed from another of your posts you live in Australia so you probably won't find the polishes recommended.
Try Repco or similar and get some Autosol or Mother's Mag Polish. Either should do.

Forget Brasso & Silvo unless you're into hard work for little results. Use the recommended polishes & save yourself some grief.

Rust remover ??? :eek:. Hope you didn't buy something that's phosphoric acid based. You'll turn your blade black.
The good folks here said 'Metal Polish'. You need metal polish. Maas or Flitz...
