Not an assertion. I tried it 30 years ago. IIRC the Norton Crystalon is 100 grit coarse & 280 grit fine.
Maybe you have much finer SiC stones.

A couple of good reasons not to use this method:
Destructive on your razor & the least smooth on your face.

Your list would totally be dependent on your needs. Are you planning to restore edges eg eBay purchases or just touch up already sharp razors ?
