The reason it's not feeling sharp is b/c your'e overfocusing on the ding and getting sloppy with the other parts of the blade. To quickly get rid of the ding, take a piece of 1000grit wet/dry...

Even with the Norton it would take a lot of work to whittle it down to nothing. If the stropping doesn't work, you will probably only need a touchup honing treatment to bring the edge back to life...
