So, if it's that much harder to get sharp, does that mean it stays sharp longer/better?

bigspendur, why do you think it took to long to get up to snuff? Is it something with the design or do you think it was specific to your piece?

Awesome, that's what I wanted to know. I can't justify the French Point version because I know I'd cut myself with it.

I'm certain the shave will be quite good. I'm more interested in the fit&finish and overal value you, as an owner feel that this razor has.

Let's just face it: I'm in love with this razor. However, I also recognize that $360 is a lot to spend on what is essentially the same razor I can get on ebay for $50 as far as actual shave quality....
