No. It was a silly idea & it's passed now.

Thank you. For some reason, when i read toe in your first post, my brain read it as heel! That's a lot of shortening, but you may make a useful blade of it.
I've not had to cut the end off a blade...

If you do decide to grind it, be very, very cautious with heat build up.

You won't be able to repair it. Your only hope would be to grind it out to stop it spreading. I've done one & incorporated into a thumbnotch, but how it ends up is governed by the crack itself...
