You can't see it on the pic, but they actually are really shiny. Sanded down to 2,000 grit. They are glossier than the previous set I did by a long shot. I haven't gotten the courage to try the CA...

Wow, this thing shaves better than my Bismarck. Amazing how they all feel different when you shave.

This one I did in oak, stained with mahogany red, sanded it back down to leave the stain in the grain, 4 coats of tung oil, and 4 coats of spar. Brass pins and spacer. I think I'm bored with oak....
