I have heard good things about the TI paste, although I haven't tried it. I have always used Puma paste, it's easy to apply and work's very well. I believe it is manufactured by Herold.

I wouldn't entirely dismiss edges from a pasted strop . I like my coticule edges, but if I want it to be a touch sharper, a few laps on a chromium oxide yields a nice skin friendly edge.
