Thanks Tony. I can't believe that these stones will work for Kosher butchering. Also, of all the reading I have done on hones SLATE has never been brought up as a honer of razors until now.

I wonder how close slate comes to an Escher or a Thuringian? The color is very close but I doubt or don't know whether slate has garnets in its makeup .
