20/9/2013 - A "Where the hell did that lather come from??" shave

    Pre : Kiehl's face wash
    Soap : TOBS Sandalwood cream
    Brush : Vulfix Picadilly
Razor : 1969 Gillette "Black beauty" (#7 setting)
    Blade : Gillette 7'o'clock yellow
Post : Homemade lime scented balm

    Finish : BBS

    Comments :
After the past couple of shaves with the bakelite slant, my skin wasn't looking forward to a #9 setting, regardless of a new blade etc. Somehow, the TOBS cream and the Picadilly brush spouted lather, and of good quality too. The #7 setting felt as though I was simply wiping the lather off... until I hit the area that the slant had previously aggravated. Even then though, the shave wasn't as painful as it could've been. I wasn't going to risk the pleasant results with the sting of alum; the balm finished the shave off with perfection.

Razor –King Mfg, King Midas Double Temper
    Brush – Pixelfixed custom Boar
    Soap – Mike’s Hungarian lavender
    AST – OSMA Alum
    AS – Speick

These little dudes take and hold amazing edges. Sometimes these King razors tend to be in poor shape. I believe that can be contributed to the inferior box they came with. I have never found a King Mfg box that was intact. This is why packaging and storage is important! Pixelfixed’s boar brush works quite well with the hard soaps and face lathering. Have a nice Friday.

Razor: Erik Anton Berg Frameback Real T-Shell
Brush: Neep Tall Deepmount Extra ST 26mm T-Shell imitation
    Cream: Cella
    ASB: Bulldog
    EDT: Rochas Man

Since it was my birthday yesterday i got myself this NOS razor. IMO one of the best looking framebacks i seen. Had a shave with it this morning with the edge i put on it yesterday. Needs a cpl more swipes on the escher (the Anton Berg Razors are always very hard in the steel and needs more attention on the hones ), but other then that it was superb. Its very light and well balanced. I have always had a thing for the framebacks.
