About my 10th shave and it just gets better and better! I think the coconut oil shave cream is easier on the sensitive skinned guys than the limes. 3 pass shave with a little buffing at the end, just to get super close. The mach 3 is definately outta here! I even donated the blades to my girlfriend!

A good, glowing shave, even with that :cen ingrown hair bump that is slowly going...
First time I've ever used a soap. Wasn't bad and not as drying as I expected, although I was rushing a little. Will try a few more shaves when I can, before I make a decision on what I like better: soap or cream :).

p*ss p**r excuse for a shave. gack. I honed nearly 1/8 off this razor trying to get to good steel, and as this morning's shave indicates, I still haven't made it.
7/8 Friodur
Simpson Rover pure badger
Arko shave stick
Alum
Musgo Real A/S splash
C&E Sienna ASB
I've had the Arko for ages and decided to give it a go with a straight - not bad at all. Great for a quick shave - so long as you don't mind the fairly industrial smell of the Arko - amazing when you consider that this stuff is cheap as dirt.
I mean industrial, as in something a janitor would use or strong laundry detergent!
Palmolive smells like soap - and I agree that you shouldn't expect much in the way of scent with these types of products.
The Arko (stick, not soap) smells much stronger than Palmolive, Nivea, or any of the other drug store-type products I've used.

I don't usually apply a strong a/s straight after any wet shave, but today I thought I'd give it a shot. Got a nice sting, but it settled within a few seconds, far quicker than it ever did shaving with a Quattro/Mach3.
The Cien hair conditioner is an inexpensive hair conditioner that I picked up in Lidl's, a German supermarket chain. It is quite thick compared to some conditioners and gave a nice "slick" covering underneath the lather and didn't give any irritation. For less than 90p a bottle, this stuff is a good addition to "the cabinet".

Pinaud Talc...
The best shave so far. Just got the Bismark from classicshaving by way of Lynn to hone and it was awesome (thanks Lynn, wonderfully sharp, smooth shave). BBS smooth on the cheeks, still working out some issues on getting the neck to BBS but no razor burn, no nicks, just beautiful.

You always make it look so good, Richard. A nice foamy Kent in the Moss scuttle, the japanese style feather waiting by on the C&E Sandalwood bowl ....
You just know it's gonna be good. :tu

Today i took my chances with the first razor i have restored and honed up myself, i stopped after the first pass and gave it another 3/3, 1/7 and 1/5 on the norton and it was much better, but not perfect.

As with others, I do feel like I'm "cheating" with the Feather. My justification is that I use this as a travel razor and need to use it occasionally so that I don't risk butchering myself when I'm on a business trip.
While I get a good shave from the Feather, it dosen't do it for me the way a traditional straight does.

This is my first shave with this razor and my first shave ever with a frameback.
The razor came shave ready (the vendor indicated that it had very recently been professionally honed and this was accurate) and I just touched up lightly on the pasted paddle and stropped away.
I really like the shape of this razor - this one has a built in smile and tapers from the tip to the tail. The razor is in near-new shape and only cost me $35, so I'm a happy camper.
The interesting thing is how much stiffer a frameback is than a full hollow of the same width.

First day trying Colleen's soaps. I actually started with the Cavendish Black, but it started to irritate my skin, as it was warned that it could do that to more sensitive skin.I had to stop and relather with the Leather Neck, even that tingled a little, but not bad. I may have to stay away from the more muskier type of scents in the future. Stick with the sandalwoods and Lavenders.
Anyway, now I know why everybody has such rave reviews of her soaps. Best lather I have ever had. Will be getting some more of her soaps.
