Victory is mine. Last night's transition from walker to quad cane was much easier than expected. The quad cane is much more comfortable than the walker and while it's not real, unassisted walking, it feels a ton more like walking than using a walker. I'm sure my arms and shoulders will thank me later. Victory #2: This morning I shaved with a conventional straight razor for the first time since the accident on 28 June. I was able to not only strop the razor but remain standing for the entire two pass shave. Even if the rest of the day is crap, it started out with some very nice and very encouraging victories and some huge steps towards getting back to normal. I'm not quite ready for a 5 mile run or a 40 mile bike ride (in fact my right leg feels like it belongs on Bambi and not a 200 LBS man) but slow and steady wins the race and I'm sure I'll be back to normal very soon.The older I get, the better I was
