    SOTD
First use of a straight for sometime now due to some issues of late that rehab and a procedure and recovery has now allowed.

So I thought I would return with A&E’s Kaizan
A new 26mm High Density Silvertip Manchurian Ultralux Badger ‘Red Forge’ from Rich Man Shaving
Made it three passes without issue.

    Nice!

Decided on a mentholated shave for today.

    Something cooling, refreshing.

Weather will get a bit warmer the next few days, so it’s time for the summer scents and non-oily balms.

I decided to pull out the trusty Shapleigh - Diamond Edge.

Not the most expensive straight I own (actually it’s cheap as heck)…but definitely one of the sharper edges.

It is so sharp, that I liken it to the harshness of a Feather Blade. But it’s not - it’s a straight razor.

With a good soap, a great balm, and a sensitive shave touch, it was a spectacular shave.

    Feeling good.

    Straight: Shapleigh -Diamond Edge
DE: Carbon Shaving Cx-316L (head shave)
    Lather: Captains Choice “Nor’Easter”
    Balm: Captains Choice “Nor’Easter”
    Splash: Captains Choice “Nor’Easter”
    Brush: Wolf Whisker (Shavemac Silvertip)
    Bowl: Captains Choice (large)

    My first SOTD.

After shaving with this razor for several years -- and in a rare moment of wisdom -- I decided to send it off to the Idaho panhandle for a vacay, complete with spa treatment package and full-body makeover. Thank you, Glen for the magnificent result. Shaves like a dream. (My poor photography surely does an injustice to Glen's work.)

    Prep: hot shower
    Soap: Williams puck
    Brush: Omega Pro boar
BUS (Butt-ugly strop, my own creation, 3" bridle leather)
    Razor: Gottlieb & Hammesfahr Pyramide
    AV Ice Blue
Olay SPF 15 (pale Irish skin and the S. Florida sun don't play well together)
